Loheat designs and manufactures bespoke heating systems to prevent the build-up of ice in the ground beneath cold stores and blast freezers. If not prevented, this will significantly affect the integrity of the building. We also offer an installation service for all of our frostheave products.

Electric Frost Heave Prevention Systems
Loheat heating systems are designed to prevent the dangerous buildup of ice in the ground below the cold store floor that leads to frost heave. We provide a thermostatically controlled heat barrier which prevents the damaging ice build-up from reaching the floor and walls. Our low voltage floor systems ensure low initial cost and energy saving solutions without the complexity and environmental issues associated with glycol.

Signs of frost heave include:
• Severe cracks in floors and walls
• Raised floor levels
• Racking becoming misaligned
• Rising or distorted internal structural columns

Loheat 25mm & 12mm Modular Heater Mats – low voltage electric
Our modular mat system is a cost-effective and versatile frost heave prevention system.
Main features of our modular heater mats:
• Suitable for all cold room applications
• Comprises of the heater wires set into insulation boards
• They do not interfere with the assembly of modular cold stores as they are simply laid onto any smooth, solid floor. They also do not require fixing to the base concrete.
• Thermostatically controlled to maintain the target temperature level completely automatically.
• Constructed from high grade poly boards which carry our sheathed heavy duty stainless steel heating wire
• Forms part of the insulation envelope needed before the final floor is laid
• Fully detailed drawing and installation and operation instructions provided with every heater mat

Loheat 12mm Mains Heater Mats
Our mains mat system is a cost-effective and versatile frost heave prevention system. No need for a seperate transformer as the mat is connected directly to the mains.
Main features of our mains heater mats:
• Suitable for all cold room applications
• Comprises of the heater wires set into insulation boards
• They do not interfere with the assembly of modular cold stores as they are simply laid onto any smooth, solid floor. They also do not require fixing to the base concrete.
• Thermostatically controlled to maintain the target temperature level completely automatically.
• Constructed from high grade fibre boards which carry our sheathed heavy duty stainless steel heating wire.
• Forms part of the insulation envelope needed before the final floor is laid

Our traditional mat system is a cost-effective and versatile frost heave prevention system.
Main features of our traditional heater mats:
• Suitable for all coldroom applications
• More cost effective on larger cold room floor areas
• Easily fitted into the base concrete
• Thermostatically controlled to maintain the target temperature level completely automatically.
• Fully detailed drawing and installation and operation instructions provided with every heater mat

Remote Low Temperature Alarm
Shows if the heater mat temperature drops to a critical level.
Can be remotely installed from a main control panel.

Red Sounder and strobe activates
The sounder can be muted, with the strobe still activated.
Option of volt free contacts for BMS connection
Critical temperature settings can be adjusted on site.

High Temperature Alarm
Shows if the operating temperature inside a coldstore rises to a critical level. The digital thermostat shows the operating temperature inside the coldstore.

Loheat Partition Heaters – low voltage electric
Used to prevent condensation build up where 2 adjoining coldrooms operate at different temperatures
Fitted into the base channel of the partition
Operated using its own transformer, powered continuously to keep a constant temperature

Loheat Column Heaters – low voltage electric
Used to heat the base of the column to prevent frost heave in the base slab via the column
Designed for both metal stanchions and concrete columns
Operated using its own transformer, powered continuously to keep a constant temperature

Loheat Anti-Condensation Heater Mats – low voltage electric
Used to prevent condensation build up in a humid environment
Can be based on the Modular or traditional heater mat design
Thermostatically controlled to maintain the target temperature level completely automatically.
